Geffen’s survival guide to 3 months in NZ stuck in a motor home with your family:

Tip # 1: Don’t over-prepare.

I can’t believe that in 8 days we’ll be off to NZ!!!!!!!

I’m really excited. I think it’ll be so much fun!

Meanwhile everything’s normal around here. Still going to school (ugh), still doing homework (double ugh), still getting annoyed by my little sister (triple ugh). We’re all so psyched about going to NZ that me and Shaked, my little sister, are already counting the days till December 30th. That’s actually a problem. You see, you can’t have a good time if the preparations are better than the trip. And for surviving in the world of campsites, portable DVDs, and baby seats, fun is your only escape. You gotta have fun (the feeling, not the band).

I come from a family with 4 kids. What’s worse, I’m the oldest. I’m 12 years old and I think I’m the most level-headed kid in the family. My sister Shaked is 9 (and a half) and thinks she’s the most level-headed kid in the family (yeah right). My brother Nevo is 4 years old and does math (smart kid). My sister Ella is a year old and knows how to talk (now we’re teaching her to be quiet).

Resolutions for the trip:

Not bugging my sister (good luck with that…)

Not being “buried” in my IPod

Helping around (mom’s idea)

Keeping contact with my friends

Writing this blog (column, whatever)

Enjoying it.
